When the head can't rest - migraines and other headaches

Headaches are one of the most common complaints that plague us in everyday life. They are throbbing, drÃthrobbing, start behind the forehead or move up from the neck. Sometimes the headache is only temporary, sometimes it restricts your ability to perform at all and there may be more to it than that.
Gregor Brössner, Deputy Director of the University Department of Neurology, will focus on the different types of headaches, including migraines and tension headaches, in his lecture. In order to better understand headaches, he will explain how they develop and which processes take place in the brain during a migraine, for example. It also discusses how headaches can be treated: What really helps - what are myths? Practical tips are also presented on how to get the right diagnosis and correctly classify warning signs of a dangerous headache.
"Wissen|schaf(f)t Gesundheit" is a series of lectures organized by the Medical University of Innsbruck. Doctors and researchers present the current state of research to an interested public in an understandable way.
Free admission, no registration required, admission from 18:00 in the main lecture hall (Audimax). The lecture can also be followed via livestream.
