Faces in trees, roots, rocks or stones... I see them all the time! Am I crazy? Brigitte Knapp asks herself this and goes to the "therapist" Daniel Faranna, who also happens to play a variety of different instruments. He advises her to listen to the faces and write down her stories..
"verwurzelt & versteinert - GsichterGschichtn" is a very special collection of stories: published in September 2024 by Edition Laurin in Innsbruck, it brings together poetry, prose and songs in German and South Tyrolean dialect about photographed faces in natural formations. The songs (composition and vocals: Brigitte Knapp, arrangement, vocals and all instruments: Daniel Faranna) can be listened to online via QR codes. Brigitte Knapp and Daniel Faranna (known as the longtime bassist of "Opas Diandl") present book and music on stage as a theatrical cabaret evening at the interface of literature and music with videos by Stefan Ghedina. On February 8, 2025, they won 1st prize at the Winto.Klong Festival of Songwriters at the Gustav Mahler Cultural Center in Dobbiaco.
