Karin Silldorff - recorders
Angelika Huemer - recorders & treble viol
Dominika Teufel - alto viola da gamba
Philipp Comploi - Basse de Violon

The Austrian Quadriga Consort has always paid particular attention to the musical tradition of the British Isles, bringing many a gem into the limelight. This time, in keeping with the season, it is heart-warmingly cozy Christmas carols from England and Ireland. The ensemble effortlessly crosses and transcends the boundaries between what is commonly referred to as art music and traditional or folk music. Where should these boundaries be drawn with this repertoire? The miracle of Christmas is always embellished in a particularly simple and heart-warming musical language. The Quadriga Consort has already thrilled audiences at Innsbrucker Abendmusik on several occasions, but this is the first time Sophie Eder has taken on the vocal part. Nikolaus Newerkla conducts a colorful instrumental ensemble with prominent Tyrolean participation; Tobias Steinberger, an exceptional percussionist who is now very experienced in early music, can be heard. Let the Quadriga Consort whisk you away to the wintry British Isles in our Christmas concert and enjoy music of mystical sound magic.
