Dance solo "What if..."

Do you believe that movement is the mother of sound?
Visible or invisible, when a stone is thrown, sound becomes audible, probably on earth. When movements are choreographed, the sequence of movements, the sound, becomes an arrangement/composition. The project "Jī" deals with this premise. It plays with the visibility and acoustics of the cause and effect of the "Jī" movement. "Jī" is the pinyin of the Chinese character "击", which means "to hit something" or "to strike". This "something" could be the physical medium in which the sound is produced.
Dan Su has been working with metal since the first performance of the "3 D metal series", using raw metal material and found objects to create sound instruments. The instrument functions both as a sound source and as a collaborator with the performer who executes the movement. The dancer is therefore the mother of the music. The dancer with the instrument is a musician. But what exactly is music? -> Discover it in "Jī", a new solo piece by Dan Su, which is being created at Vorbrenner.
