When We Move, It's a Movement!
The paper theater of Initiative Schwarze Frauen* Innsbruck & Verein Zweitgeschichte On the occasion of the International Day against Racism, March 21
Reservations via office@kunstraum-innsbruck.at (limited seating capacity)
Every major social event writes history. It is imprinted on the collective memory and stored there. But do all members of society experience these events in the same way? Is the history that is recorded in the collective memory really always the same? Who writes this history?
The Second History Association took the release of the Ibiza video in May 2019 as an opportunity to explore these very questions. The result is a colorful, dazzling, shrill paper theater piece based on the autobiographical story of four strong, Black women* in Innsbruck and their daily struggle against racism and corruption. In a humorous and creative way, the events are presented to the audience from the perspective of a marginalized group in Innsbruck using paper theater. This should and may stimulate thought and discussion, because history should always be written together.
