A journey into magical fairytale worlds
At the New Year's Concert 2026, we will open a treasure chest full of melodious stories for you and whisk you away to the magical world of fairy tales. Immerse yourself in imaginative audio adventures that paint enchanted fairytale pictures. These include Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov's mystical and romantic Skazka (Fairy Tale), which depicts a kind of mysterious enchanted forest imagiin which Hansel and Gretel, Little Red Riding Hood and the wicked wolf all romp about at the same time. The journey also takes us into the dreamy world of Cinderella, whose story Gioachino Rossini brings to life with great musical charm in his overture La Cenerentola. Fittingly, Pyotr I. Tchaikovsky's famous Waltz of the Flowers from The Nutcracker also conjures up the glamorous atmosphere of an opulent ball. And if they haven't died, they can still be heard today: the enchanting, dazzling sounds of the "Waltz King" Johann Strauss (son) or the "last operetta king" Franz Lehár are of course a must at a New Year's concert.
Join the Tiroler Symphonieorchester Innsbruck and Ainārs Rubiķis, who not only celebrates the turn of the year with the New Year's Concert 2026, but also his debut as chief conductor of the TSOI, in a world full of Magie and enchanting sounds and start the new year with magical musical moments.
