La Cage aux Folles’ is getting on in years and has long since ceased to be an attraction on the Côte d'Azur. Zaza and Renato, an old married couple, are only arguing about a new show, but without visitors, there are no more financial resources. Zaza also falls out with Jacob, the faithful pearl. After a particularly heated argument, Jacob leaves the travesty show and witnesses a murder. A mafia boss has strangled his paramour out of jealousy. He sees the eyewitness! Jacob tells the inspector what has happened and is hidden away in a convent as a key witness. Things get turbulent in the convent: Jacob becomes choirmaster and causes quite a stir among the nuns. Jacob feels comfortable in her new role, but the murderer turns up at the convent. The inspector protects his key witness and is able to arrest the mafia boss. From the convent back to the ‘La Cage aux Folles’ stage. Of course, the inspector must not be missing from Jacob's ‘new start’.
