Robin Hood
Tony Glausi grew up in a musical family in Portland, Oregon. Glausi began singing, playing piano and trumpet at an early age. He cites Stevie Wonder, Miles Davis and Earth Wind & Fire as his earliest influences.
Tony has lived in New York for several years and regularly plays with the best pianists and singers on the Billboard charts, such as Peter Cincotti, GRAMMY-nominated composer Remy Le Boeuf, GRAMMY-nominated Latin singer Nana Mendoza, hip-hop legend Big Daddy Kane, piano genius Sean Mason, burlesque sensation Speakeasy: Times Square, and many more.
He has toured the globe and performed at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland, the Leopolis Jazz Festival in Ukraine, the Seoul Jazz Festival in South Korea, the Java Jazz Festival in Indonesia and the Blue Note Clubs in New York, Hawaii, Napa, Tokyo and Milan.
Tony has also performed as a guest artist with the United States Marine Corps All Star Jazz Band, the Columbus Jazz Orchestra, the Eugene Symphony, and high school and college groups throughout the U.S. To date, Glausi has released twelve albums of original music in physical and digital formats, garnering awards, rave reviews and an ever-growing fan base of all ages. As a composer, he has written for string orchestras, large jazz ensembles, short films and a variety of contemporary chamber ensembles.
Tony's awards include 1st prize in the jazz category of the 2014 National Trumpet Competition, 1st prize at the International Trumpet Guild's 2017 Jazz Improvisation Competition and 1st prize at the 2017 Carmine Caruso International Jazz Solo Competition. He was also the sole recipient of the 2016-17 Laurie Frink Career Grant.
