Inclusion and accessibility in communication

More than 700,000 people in Austria have no access to democratic information. The reason for this is that information is not available and accessible in plain language. When it comes to having a say in democracy, people with disabilities and marginalized groups face particularly many barriers in their daily lives.
The next stage of the European Accessibility Act will also come into force on June 28, 2025. It obliges companies to communicate without barriers. One tool for this is communication in plain language. On this evening, we will discuss what still needs to be done before then and how we can (finally) achieve greater inclusion and accessibility in communication.
