IKB Energy Experience Day

Water, electricity, internet and heat drewill be the focus of the IKB Smart City Lab at Langer Weg 32 on June 28. Anyone with a head for heights can enjoy a view over Innsbruck from a height of 25 meters - just like the IKB lighting team normally does. On a mini construction site, the journey of drinking water from the Nordkette to Innsbruck's houses is recreated. But the water only flows when the pipes are properly connected! Very skilled people "splice" the fine fiber optic cables - connecting them together so that the Internet flows at lightning speed. After a short ride on the free shuttle, guests can find out where the electricity comes from at the IKB hydroelectric power station. The generators continue to work there on the big day. They show live how our drinking water from the Nordkette is used to generate electricity.
