From Here, We Act - Get to know POW 10.01.25 | Workshop 6 pm | Film start 8 pm 2025 is the UN Year of the Glacier. To mark the occasion, Protect Our Winters is organising a get-together on 10 January with a workshop, film screenings and discussion focusing on glacier shrinkage and its impact on society. Crying Glaciers, Downstream and From Here raise awareness of the climate crisis and motivate for change. The filmmakers and athletes will provide insights into their work and invite you to network and take action together. In the POW workshop, you will learn important facts about the climate crisis in the Alps and how you can use your voice to campaign for a future worth living. Second Ascent offers on-site repairs of outdoor clothing for a voluntary donation. Photos by members of the POW Creative Alliance will also be exhibited in the foyer. Johanna Brunner and Richard Buchner will be showing photos taken during the shooting of the film FROM HERE. Tobias Büttel will be exhibiting images from his current project melting giants. In an on-stage discussion, he will talk about what it was like for him to travel with glaciologist and POW Science Alliance member Lindsey Nicholson and visually capture the changes in the glaciers.
