Three Alpine cinemas in May

In May 2024, Leokino will be showing drei films that deal with the Alpine region. Following the film screenings, we will talk to the directors about the background to their works. Admission is free, reservations can be made from May 7. We look forward to seeing you!
14. May 2024, 20:00: Wondrous Kiental (Christina Zurbrügg, CH)
A small village in the Swiss mountains: Kiental. Lenin held a secret meeting here and Friedrich Dürrenmatt used the village as inspiration for his play "The Visit of the Old Lady". Singer and filmmaker Christina Zurbrügg was born in Kiental and tells of memories and the present with poetry and humor. The Alps are not only a spectacular natural landscape in the heart of Europe, but also a habitat for 13 million people in eight countries, whose multitude of languages, dialects and ways of life reflect the cultural diversity of this unique region. After years of mass tourism in the Alps, a rethink is slowly taking place. Whether researchers, artists or philosophers: Many are trying to approach the nature of the mountains in a new way. These film screenings are part of the event series "Focus Switzerland-Tyrol: Sustainable Alpine Space", which will take place in Innsbruck from May 13, 2024.
