Richard Strauss Ein Heldenleben, symphonic poem op. 40

Sparks will fly when the Tiroler Symphonieorchester Innsbruck performs the Austrian premiere of the tone poem The Spark Catchers by 38-year-old English composer Hannah Kendall. The title, which means spark catcher, stands for rhythmically lambent, motivically sparkling and sonically glowing music inspired by the poem of the same name by English poet Lemn Sissay. Right there, the musicians of the TSOI truly become heroes in the execution of a highly virtuosic score and then continue their heroic performances in Richard Strauss' symphonic poem Ein Heldenleben, in which the then progressive neo-tonalist fights out his bouquets with his "adversaries", the critical opponents he describes as "yappers" and "sycophants", but also with his "companion". the "champion" in Strauss' heroic epic will be the German conductor Kevin John Edusei, who has family ties to Tyrol and is increasingly establishing himself at the musical forefront of Europe and the USA. In the middle ofdrin, the hero of the low notes, Bavarian tuba player and cabaret artist Andreas Martin Hofmeir, will perform the incredible solo concerto for his instrument by the great English symphonist Ralph Vaughan Williams. Light-footed coloratura as if from a flute, but also fundamentally vibrating deep sounds from the instrumental colossus are guaranteed.
