Danish String Quartet

What happens when two violinists, a violist and a cellist tackle the great masters of classical music and devote themselves to folk music with equal passion? According to their own statements, they need a good dose of creative
creative time out, which they find in cooking, reading, diving and tennis, among other things. Numerous award-winning recordings and performances in the world's most beautiful concert halls leave no doubt that the Danish String Quartet has long since earned a place among the most renowned string ensembles of our time and is now extending its conquests to the Tyrol, because: “We are three Danes and one Norwegian, which makes the whole thing a truly Scandinavian endeavor. As we are quite bearded, we are often compared to Vikings. However, we only occasionally scavenge on foreign beaches.”
At the end of the Meister&Kammerkonzerte 24|25, the four gentlemen offer a program that ranges from a divertimento by 16-year-old Mozart and songs and dances by Irish harpist Turlough O'Carolan to miniatures by Stravinsky and Shostakovich's third string quartet to a musical interlude by US-American Caroline Shaw.
