Wissen|schaf(f)t Gesundheit: Gender- and diversity-sensitive medicine and health care

"Wissen|schaf(f)t Gesundheit" is a series of lectures organized by the Medical University of Innsbruck. Doctors and researchers present the current state of research to an interested public in an understandable way.
Women live longer than men, but in poor health for nine years, compared to only six years and nine months for men. Overall, men are more affected by cancer and women suffer more frequently from autoimmune diseases. People with lowerdriincomes have poorer health overall and are more frequently affected by diseases than people with higher incomes. Gender- and diversity-sensitive medicine looks at the influence of these and other diversity categories on the prevention, development, diagnosis, treatment and research of diseases.
In her lecture, Sabine Ludwig, Director of the Institute for Diversity in Medicine, will present the importance of taking gender and other diversity aspects into account using the example of several diseases as well as prevention and health promotion.
Free admission, no registration required, admission from 18:00 in the main lecture hall (Audimax). The lecture can also be followed as a livestream.
