The Congos & The Gladiators

The Congos are a legendary reggae group from Jamaica that has been active since the mid-70s. They became best known for their album "Heart of the Congos", which they recorded with Lee "Scratch" Perry. This album showcased their outstanding vocal skills and contained roots reggae treasures such as "La La Bam Bam", "Open The Gate" and "Congo Man". Their famous track "Fisherman" was named one of the top ten reggae tracks of all time by Rolling Stone magazine. In June, they will be touring Europe with The Gladiators, another big name in Jamaican music.

The Gladiators were founded in 1967 by Albert Griffiths. They wrote iconic 70s roots rock reggae tracks such as "Hello Carol", "Bongo Red" and "Roots Natty". With the release of their legendary album "Trenchtown Mix Up", the Gladiators have secured themselves a place in the reggae hall of fame. In 2006, for health reasons, Albert Griffiths handed over the leadership to his son Al, who bears a striking resemblance to his father in both appearance and voice and was quickly accepted by the public as the new face of the band.
