Obertöne Chamber Music Days

Journey Through Wonderland
Imagine thirteen extraordinary artists from eight countries coming together right near you to perform exciting and touching music from five centuries for a week and share it with you. All this in a magnificent baroque hall, which not only has excellent acoustics but also provides a wonderfully festive and familial atmosphere for gathering. — And imagine: There is such a "Chamber Music Wonderland"!
The OBERTÖNE Chamber Music Days, held every September at Stift Stams, have been a crowd-puller for over a decade. With constantly changing ensembles from solo to octet, the consistently outstanding musicians present contrasting music from Frescobaldi to Stravinsky and Piazzolla, and with an unparalleled program design, one experiences not only an impressive range and variety. Each of the concerts is a composition and an experience in itself, each piece within has its meaning and its place.
Alongside the Ukrainian violinist Mariya Nesterovska and the Tyrolean bassoonist Hubert Mittermayer Nesterovskiy, who are responsible for the artistic decisions, other artists such as Serbian pianist Nenad Lečić and guitarist Rafael Bonavita from Uruguay are appreciated by the local audience. This year, actor Karl Markovics will also be part of the ensemble, presenting "The Soldier's Tale," a piece that, besides having great dramatic value, also provides space to reflect on current issues.
Come to Stams in September and let yourself be taken into this musical wonderland!
