Numen/For Use

Numen / For Use is a multidisciplinary artists' collective that has been active in the fields of furniture design, interior architecture and space design and stage design since 1998. Since 2008, a focus has been on interactive spatial installations made of tape, nets or ropes, which thrill audiences worldwide - including in Innsbruck, where they spanned a walk-through, tube-like net construction through the aut in 2015 with "Tube Innsbruck". When aut 2021 invited all those who had been actively involved in our programme in previous years to contribute a piece on the theme of "The Bodies and Space", Numen / For Use submitted a film that captivated us from the start: an interior space completely covered in latex that changes when air is added and turns inside out like a glove. This "Negative Space" can now be experienced live at aut together with "Collapsing Room" - a second experimental work in which a familiar, ordinary room also tips over into the irrational.
