Mit Pauken und Trompeten - Concert, Innsbrucker Festwochen der Alten Musik

Once, the golden sounds of trumpets adorned the existence of courtly society and the people. The Tyrolean archdukes also highly valued the powerful trumpet consorts, which could include up to 30 musicians. They performed at representative events, celebrations, and public festivities. The tradition of trumpet processions persisted in some regions, including the Austrian and southern German areas, until the end of the 18th century, and in some places, even into the 19th century.

In Tyrol, there are once again trumpet consorts performing on natural trumpets from that era. At the Innsbrucker Festwochen der Alten Musik Festival, they have become an integral part of the program and are now inseparable from it. Their festive sounds echo from the Golden Roof through the historic old town of the Alpine metropolis.
