Lysistrata - a Greek comedy
‘Lysistrata’ is the name of the play by the ancient Greek playwright Aristophanes, which is already 2436 years old. The plot is by no means ‘old-fashioned’, but more topical than ever.
The comedy is set at the end of the Peloponnesian War between the two warring factions of Athens and Sparta. The men fight and leave their families at home. This leaves many women widowed and their children half-orphans. Lysistrata decides that something urgently needs to change and so she devises a plan.
An exciting and astonishing play by talented actors offers an unforgettable evening! The play is in the german language.
The Dorfbühne Sistrans is performing the play on 13 evenings from 1 to 28 February 2025.
