Italy - Quo vadis?

The Republic of Italy is one of the founding members of the EU and one of the largest economies in the world. However, Italy has been facing serious challenges for years: its situation in the Mediterranean refugee zone, persistently high national debt, a massive north-south divide within the country, the influence of the mafia, unprecedenteddribirth rates and high youth unemployment.
The fractures within Italian society have become particularly visible since the 2022 elections: a quarter of Italians voted for a post-fascist party. Italy has an ultra-right-wing government for the first time since the republic was founded. What does this mean for Italy, its neighboring countries and Europe?
