In the Footsteps of Operation Greenup

A walking tour of places in Innsbruck involved in secret activities of the Operation Greenup, this is an Austro-American Society/Tirol 75th Anniversary event highlighting contributions of a small team of covert agents and their Tirolean helpers to saving Innsbruck from major destruction and ending the war. What do young Jewish-American agents, a deserted Wehrmacht officer, Tirolean NS resisters, the Gestapo, and Brooklyn New York have in common? They all played a role in the fascinating true story of Operation Greenup/Codename Brooklyn. The tour is led and narrated by Matthias Breit of the Absam Museum.
