ICH, AKIRA von Noëlle Haeseling & Leo Meier

The dog - man's best friend. Submissive. Faithfully devoted. Slavishly submissive. Man loves his dog. And dogs love back unconditionally, because they don't differentiate between rich and poor, pretty or ugly, good or bad.
But does everyone really deserve a dog's love? In the very specific case of this play, the human is called Attila Hildmann, was a cookbook author and is now a reality-defying conspiracy ideologue at the head of a far-right movement of Reichsbürger and corona deniers. Hildmann is also a dad. Dad to Akira. A husky. A dog who finds himself in a dilemma: "I came here tonight because I want to ask you a question. It's a somewhat delicate question. That's why I can't answer it on my own. Because I need your help." And the question? - "Woof woof woof."

Peter Schorn plays the human-like husky Akira with a great deal of humor and enthusiasm, hilariously portraying his inner battle between instinct and intellect. Michaela Senn's production deals with an important question of our time: "What happens when our loved ones become radicalized?"
