‘Tradition is not the worship of ashes, but the passing on of fire.’ Just in time for the start of carnival, a new, colourful carnival procession will make its way through Innsbruck under the watchful eyes of the furious lads and an Altmännermühle will pursue its destiny. Fasnacht Forward combines tradition with modernity and yesterday with today to explore the boundaries and gaps between culture and customs, between preserving and recreating.
