Family carnival on Shrove Tuesday

On Shrove Tuesday, March 4, 2025, Innsbruck's Maria-Theresien-Straße and, for the first time, the adjacent Sparkassenplatz will be transformed into a cheerful and colorful carnival world. From 1 pm to 7 pm, visitors can look forward to a varied program full of fun, music and surprises!

Creativity and fun for all children
Numerous play and activity stations invite you to try out new things, while sporting challenges provide fun and action. Of course, the popular make-up stations are not to be missed: Bright colors, imaginative motifs and creative face painting add the finishing touches to the carnival costumes. The local gastronomy provides a wide selection of food and drinks.

Thrilling entertainment and living traditions
On the stage in front of the Annasäule, a DJ act creates a great atmosphere and invites all young dancers to join in the celebrations with a joint choreography by the Street Motion Studio dance crew. In addition, traditional groups from Innsbruck present their artistically designed costumes and delight the audience with their creative interludes.druThe Innsbruck Witches, the Fetzige Hexen from Amras, the Stadtgarde, the Jungmuller from Arzl and the Mühlauer Muller amaze the audience with their impressive costumes and traditional interludes. The Igl men's ballet is also taking part this time.

Even more fun for the little ones at Sparkassenplatz
New this year: Sparkassenplatz will be a special meeting place for the youngest carnival fans. Things are a little quieter here - but no less exciting! A lovingly designed games program, funny clowns, creative face painting and numerous creative stations invite children to romp and laugh.
