ERWIN REHEIS

ERWIN REHEIS - UNTERWEGS
Prof. Erwin Reheis has been one of the most recognized artistic personalities in the country for decades, and his reputation as an excellent draughtsman and painter extends far beyond the borders of Tyrol. Numerous exhibitions/participations at home and abroad bear witness to his tireless artistic energy. Our gallery has a long-standing collaboration with Erwin Reheis, one of the first exhibitions on our premises showed exclusively his graphic work - a first in the artist's long exhibition career. The current exhibition is dedicated to the painter Erwin Reheis in a comprehensive form. With an excellent selection of his most recent works in oil, as well as colorful tube-pen-watercolors.
The now 83-year-old has remained consistently true to his impressionistic style over the years, but also presents a surprisingly strong, new colorfulness in his late work. The watercolor reed pen drawings are dominated by a strong red, spread out with a broad ductus as form-giving surfaces, the oil paintings are worked with condensed, shimmering and fine brushstrokes, whereby the harmoniously modeled landscape is structured in the picture composition by free-standing courtyards, trees and undulating hills. A special feature of the exhibition are two large-format city views: Innsbruck and Vienna.
