SAVE THE GREEN PLANET! is a wild genre mix of sci-fi comedy, revenge movie, and paranoia thriller, and is considered one of the gems of early 21st-century South Korean cinema. Amidst all the absurdity, Jang Joon-hwan's debut shows where erratic thinking paired with social exclusion and psychological instability can lead. This makes it more relevant than ever. Ever since the invasion of a micro-alien named Corona, followers of crude conspiracy myths have been sprouting like mushrooms. Let's just hope they don't have a torture chamber like Byun-gu's.
