Intelligent medicine - of hi-tech and medical artistry

Modern medicine is changing rapidly thanks to technical innovations. But the development of ever new tools and possibilities also raises questions: How can patients benefit from digitalization and AI-supported applications? Why does the in-depth medical consultation remain central? What qualities need to be developed during training, but also in practice as a whole, so that medical science and technology can be used sensibly for the benefit of people?
On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Medical University of Innsbruck, cardiologist Axel Bauer, intensive care physician and medical ethicist Barbara Friesenecker and psychiatrist Barbara Sperner-Unterweger will talk about the opportunities and challenges of high-tech medicine for patient-centered care. Moderated by Rector Wolfgang Fleischhacker, this panel discussion will provide answers to current questions.

On the podium:
Barbara Sperner-Unterweger, Director of the University Clinic for Psychiatry II
Barbara Friesenecker, University Clinic for Anesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine
Axel Bauer, University Clinic for Internal Medicine III
Moderation: Wolfgang Fleischhacker, Rector Medical University of Innsbruck
A cooperation event of the Medical University of Innsbruck and WuV.
