Shivering, twitching, trembling: the dance piece Beben starts where the body seems to separate from itself. Emotions such as love, fear or joy can trigger physical reactions that we can neither control nor hide. At the same time, our body usually reacts faster than our perception as a harbinger of grievances or danger - just as a swelling tremor can herald approaching changes and shifts within social conventions and political systems. The soulful, melancholy soundscape of Austrian singer-songwriter and newcomer Oskar Haag becomes an essential part of the piece, in which dance, music and text vibrate together.
