ANTON CHRISTIAN - AC 85
ANTON CHRISTIAN - AC 85
On February 7, Anton Christian, one of the most important Tyrolean artists of the present day, celebrates his 85th birthday. His artistic work is widely recognized and independent and has also been successfully shown internationally. We are delighted to be able to show a truly excellent selection of works to mark this special occasion and, with this special show, are presenting both gallery locations simultaneously for the first time with an overarching exhibition.
In the main gallery, the focus of the show is on works from the outstanding work phase of the 1980s to 2000s: selected drawings and mixed media with impressive precision and finesse - mostly in the typical Christian formats on laid paper, as well as oil paintings of the highest artistic quality. The exhibition also includes some treasures, such as early works or two of the extremely rare object showcases. In our M2 gallery, we are also showing various small-format original works, prints in various techniques (including 1990 Quellen), as well as a series of interesting drafts and pencil sketches. This allows us to provide a comprehensive insight into the multifaceted artistic work of the renowned Tyrolean artist across all galleries. A large number of the works on display come from important collections, some have been published as key works and have already been shown in museum exhibitions - and are now exclusively available in our gallery as part of this anniversary exhibition.
