Ambras Advent tour

How was Christmas celebrated back then? Did customs such as the Advent wreath, Advent calendar, nativity scene or carol singers already exist in the 16th century? What role did fine spices such as cloves, cinnamon and nutmeg and exotic gifts made of ivory or mother-of-pearl play?
